🗣 Play to your weaknesses
If this doesn’t sound right, GOOD. It shouldn’t
Most of us are taught to lean into our strengths because we feel good growing there
I would argue that we are more focused and engaged leaning into a challenge or something that isn’t a strength
What we do repeatedly, we get good at and those activities run without conscious effort. Hence minimal mental and physical stimulation (autopilot)
Consider business man Alex Hormosi’s idea on the importance of identifying your weakness whether it be a skill, trait or belief and fixing that ASAP because you are only as strong as your weakest link 🔗
In business I learned to outsource my weaknesses and things I didn’t want to do. But in the gym, you can’t outsource legs or calves or rear delts. YOU HAVE TO DO IT!
In terms of health and physique goals, nutrition was my weakness. I got some help from Coach Nikita, acquired more knowledge through nutrition certifications and have been making positive progress ever since.
Bringing it back to physical training, a weakness can turn into a favourite and maybe a strength. My legs were always a weakness and I defaulted to chest day because that was a strength. Now I can’t stop hitting legs and practicing new skills like skipping and handstands. I truly look forward to training
Working on the physical weaknesses creates for a much more well rounded physique. Not to mention less prone to injury because of muscular imbalances
